Hailing from Brooklyn, DJ Dummy is a Battle/Club/Concert DJ, as well as Musical Director and Producer.
DJ
Dummy has worked closely in creating stage shows and/or djing tours and
concerts for artists such as Common (presently), Talib Kweli, De La
Soul, Kanye West, Musiq Soulchild, Mos Def, A+, DMX, Onyx, Das Efx, All
City, Trigga tha Gambler, Smoothe Da Hustler, and Group Home.
This
original member of the infamous Tape Kingz, has made his mark in the DJ
Battle arena with being the 1998 New York Regional DMC Champion, the
1998 American DMC Battle Third Place winner, and the Zulu Nation Battle
runner-up in 1996.
Dummy has successfully made “turning the
party out” a science. If you didn't catch him in '07 on XM's The City,
you can find him guest appearing on radio shows across the globe.
Throughout his solid career, Dummy has electrified numerous clubs and
has toured internationally, entertaining clients such as LeBron James,
Shaquille O'neil, Venus Williams, the NBA, NFL Pro Bowl, Tampa Bay
Devil Rays, L-R-G, Red Bull, MAGIC, Nike, Hennessey and Ryan Kenny to
name a few.
In 1996 he started a company called 12 Inch
Assassins. 12 Inch Assassins was created to provide the hip-hop
community with the most talented DJs for parties, nightclubs, concert
series, tours, studio production, lighting, and talent showcases.
The
talented producer runs his own studio, Soul Source Studios and
production company, Them Cats Productions. Which produced Kim Hill's
(former singer of Black-Eyed Peas) 2005 single Right Now.
